A brilliant, stunning and highly useful book for a huge audience. Buy this book. You will love it.
This volume’s a real treasure. It’s different from other famous Chinese classics I’ve read The Art of War by Sun Tzu, The Way by Lao Tzu, and Confucius’s Analects. As an educated native Chinese speaker who can usually better appreciate the in-depth meanings conveyed by these ancient Chinese texts, I sometimes found their English versions hard to comprehend or burdened with cumbersome annotations. Often, they’re a chore to read after the first few pages.
But The Ruler’s Guide is very different, and it’s accessible from page one. I felt as if I had been at the very imperial chamber where the emperor and his advisers were holding their meetings. It’s easy to see why these core aspects of leadership have been constantly rearticulated for more than 1,000 years. They’re timeless and they work!

The Ruler’s Guide is highly credible because tips in the book came from a man who set out to build a great, long-lasting enterprise when he was 28 years old and who succeeded spectacularly. In his new book Chinghua Tang introduces us to a giant of Chinese history. Emperor Tang Taizong lived in the seventh century A.D., founded a dynasty that lasted for almost three hundred years and produced a set of principles for governing that are relevant to today's world.
Author Tang expands the definition of the "ruler" from emperors (who no longer exist) to encompass elected leaders, businessmen, corporate managers, educators, sports coaches, military men, religious authorities, parents and more. The majority of people are either rulers or the ruled and can be both simultaneously. So this book is a guide fore anyone in a position of authority.
Chapter by chapter we see how Tang Taizong developed his principles of attaining self-knowledge, evaluating people, exercising leadership and enhancing organizational effectiveness.

I was looking on internet for a book about the wisdom of ancient China’s leaders, when the cover of The Ruler’s Guide caught my attention. The book has a decent price so I decided to order it from . I received the book and started reading it. The book contains the dialogues of one of the greatest China emperors with his advisers. This book is a jewel, it is well worth reading by anybody, especially a great guide for people holding positions of leadership in government, business, or any other organization.
