In 1976, the Union of Japanese Scientists and Engineers (JUSE) saw the need for tools to promote innovation, communicate information and successfully plan major projects. A team researched and developed the seven new quality control tools, often called the seven management and planning (MP) tools, or simply the seven management tools. Not all the tools were new, but their collection and promotion were.

This is not for novices. The audience needs to have knowledge and experience with the Quality process and planning. With that it is useful to review the 7 management and planning tools.
I enjoyed this short reading. It took me about 40 min to read it. The way the author explained and showed examples was easy to understand and follow. I had a basic understanding of the charts flows and with this reading I learned the details of each of them. Can't wait to put them in practice. Highly recommended!
I found this book to be a great refresher and also introduced me to some planning tools I was not familiar with. I would recommend this book to management and also project managers. The last tool referenced PDPC would be a great tool for defining and documenting project risk.
