Arein is a Gray Elf, she is sick with a rare blood disease and she is dying. When Fin the Halfling literally runs into her on his journey home, Arein impulsively decides to go with him as she has never been anywhere. Their journey leads them into a dangerous situation that is a matter of life and death. When war breaks out is Arein ready to play her part?? Ends with a cliffhanger that leaves you screaming for more!!!!
Arein has to trust but has she put herself in with the wrong person ?
Fin is a halfling and when they go on a walk together it turns into anything but a simple walk, pixies need help and are they enough for the pixies or is everything going to get worse?
I loved this , I honestly did not think I would because this is so different from what I normally read.
This was a fairly good debut fantasy novel although the switch between points of view was a bit rough at times. Arein is a young Elf - under three hundred years old- that has a disease in her blood that's killing her. Finn is a Halfing and former teacher on a secret and dangerous journey. One night Fin crashes into Arein as she sits on her swing watching the light show above her former town. In an instant, without even time to pack a bag, she chooses to go with him on his journey. I could feel Fin's frustration with Arein and it was familiar to how I'd feel when I had a task to do and one of the myriad young in my family would want to come along. I also knew that feeling of joy and pride that comes with watching the young companion excitedly absorbing a lesson being taught. Though she was fairly whiny off and on through the whole book, when it came to extreme measures she'd show such bravery and inner strength. Just when it picked up the most and I was super engrossed, the book ended. So now I'm waiting for July and book two. It's a good read and I'll be waiting for the next installment
Arein, a Gray Elf, has a strong sense of right and wrong. Fin, a Halfling, has something extremely important that must be done. Between them they must … Oh, wait, this is a book review, not a synopsis! The book title says it all. This book is about faith, trust, and pixie dust. Also, I learned how the seasons work. Now, if we could only get them back in sync – that means no more snow in May! I enjoyed this book very much.
Can't wait for the next book!
Thoroughly enjoyed this book by Amelia Bronson. It's a fantasy tale about a sickly young elf named Arein, and a halfling on a quest he just can't tell you about.
It's a lovely coming of age story with a hint of romance. Can't wait to read book 2!
Really enjoyed this story. I love the way everyone fits into this world she created correctly. I also like her youthful innocent style, weather on purpose or by accident, binding the story together for a very comfortable read.
